Cathryn Fortuna

Cathryn started her GoAbroad journey back in August 2017 serendipitously. She was scrolling through Facebook and saw an expired ad for the GoAbroad Writer's Academy—but figured she'd apply anyway. Cathryn was accepted and went on to complete the Writer's Academy that fall before accepting a remote internship with GoAbroad. One year later, she landed in the Philippines as an on-site content marketing intern…and then, after 3 months, got hired on full time as a Content Editor & Marketing Assistant. Thanks Facebook!

Cathryn loves travel, especially if it involves the outdoors and mountains. Her favorite country in the world is New Zealand, so far. She is a barista at heart and can never pass up news (or a conversation) about outer space. If you can't stand astrology, steer clear. She's a sucker for a good music festival too. You can usually find Cathryn listening to sad music or NPR, avoiding single-use plastics, talking to house plants, drinking americanos, looking at baby ducks on the internet, or hanging out with Kurt and Elie.
